Tyrese Maxey erupted for 54 points to propel the Philadelphia 76ers to a 123-114 overtime victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, while the San Antonio Spurs staged a late surge to defeat Atlanta.

Maxey played 47 minutes, shooting 18-of-30 from the field, 6-of-15 from three-point range, and 12-of-14 from the free-throw line, while also contributing nine assists and five rebounds. Milwaukee’s Myles Turner hit a three-pointer with 15 seconds remaining to give the Bucks a 106-104 lead, but Maxey calmly sank two free throws with seven seconds left to force overtime. Maxey then scored six points in the extra period as Philadelphia secured the win.

Paul George added 21 points for the 76ers, while Ryan Rollins led the Bucks with 32 points. Both teams were missing key players, with Milwaukee sidelined star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia without Joel Embiid.

In San Antonio, De’Aaron Fox scored 26 points and Keldon Johnson added 25 off the bench to lift the Spurs to a 135-126 victory over the visiting Atlanta Hawks. The win improved San Antonio to 11-4 overall and 3-0 since losing star Victor Wembanyama to a calf injury, thanks to strong contributions from role players filling in for the French big man.

Fox also recorded nine assists, while Johnson added seven assists and a season-high in points, scoring 18 in the first half alone. “My teammates, they expect me to score the basketball,” Johnson said. “They believe in me even when I struggle to believe in myself.”

Julian Champagnie chipped in 20 points for San Antonio, including eight in a crucial 16-2 run in the fourth quarter that gave the Spurs a commanding 116-103 lead. For Atlanta, Nickeil Alexander-Walker posted a season-high 38 points, and Jalen Johnson added 26. The Hawks welcomed back center Kristaps Porzingis (right knee) and forward Zaccharie Risacher (bruised left hip), though Trae Young remains sidelined with a knee sprain.

Orlando continued its strong run, winning for the fifth time in six games. Jalen Suggs scored 23 points and Franz Wagner added 20 as the Magic routed the Los Angeles Clippers 129-101. Orlando overcame a game-high 31 points from James Harden despite missing Paolo Banchero due to a groin injury.

Memphis also dominated, with Spanish forward Santi Aldama scoring 29 points and Australian center Jock Landale adding 21 off the bench in a 137-96 win over the Sacramento Kings. Every player on the Grizzlies’ roster scored in the blowout. Sacramento will be without Domantas Sabonis for the next three to four weeks due to a left knee injury.

In other news, Dallas guard Dante Exum is set for right knee surgery and will miss the remainder of the NBA season.
