Bruno Fernandes breaks Premier League single-season assist record
Manchester United FC midfielder Bruno Fernandes made Premier League history after registering his 21st assist of the season during the final-day clash away to Brighton & Hove Albion FC.
Fernandes, who was named the Premier League Player of the Season on Saturday, had entered the final round level on 20 assists alongside former Arsenal FC striker Thierry Henry and ex-Manchester City FC midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
The Portugal international claimed the outright record in the 32nd minute when his corner delivery was headed into the net by Patrick Dorgu, giving United a 1-0 lead and prompting his teammates to rush over and celebrate the achievement with their captain.
