The Malta Waterpolo Referees Association (MWRA) interim president, Mr. Massimo Angileri, will depart for Alba Iulia, Romania, tomorrow, where he will serve as Maltese representative referee in the opening qualifying round of the Women’s European Aquatics Conference Cup.

This marks Mr. Angileri’s second international appointment of the season, following his earlier officiating duties in the Women’s European Aquatics Champions League opening round.

Mr. Angileri will form part of the Group B officiating team, which features four participating clubs: VK Jadran Split (Croatia), ZVK Crvena Zvezda (Serbia), CSM Unirea Alba Iulia (Romania), and Cosenza Pallanuoto (Italy).

Joining him on the refereeing panel are distinguished international officials Mr. Karel Dvoracek (Czech Republic), Ms. Rosa Fernandez (Spain), and Mr. Canberk Durak (Turkey). The group will collectively oversee all six matches scheduled in this qualifying phase. The tournament delegate will be Mr. Michalis Skalochoritis (Greece).

The MWRA extended its best wishes to Mr. Angileri ahead of his assignment, noting that his continued international recognition reflects the steady growth, professionalism, and progress of Maltese waterpolo officials, both domestically and on the European stage.
