Europa League Matchday 4: One stat from each game as Midtjylland maintain perfect record

The fourth round of the UEFA Europa League group stage delivered plenty of drama last week. Here’s a standout stat from each match as we reach the halfway point of the group phase.
Nice’s struggles continue, Midtjylland go top
18 – Utrecht earned a 1-1 draw against Porto despite finishing the match with 10 men. Miguel Rodriguez gave the Eredivisie side the lead, only for Borja Sainz to equalize. This marked Utrecht’s first point after three straight defeats, with the two second-half goals coming 18 minutes apart.
4 – Austria’s Sturm Graz and Nottingham Forest played out a goalless draw in one of the early kickoffs. Forest extended their winless European away streak to four matches (0-3-1).
3 – RB Salzburg finally got off the mark in the Europa League with a 2-0 home win over Go Ahead Eagles, scoring both goals in the second half. It was Salzburg’s first home group-stage win in three years.
7 – OGC Nice suffered another defeat, losing 3-1 to Freiburg. Despite taking the lead, the hosts conceded three times in 13 minutes. Freiburg celebrated their seventh away win in the group phase.
6 – FC Midtjylland sit atop the Europa League table after a 3-1 win over Celtic. The Danes are the only team with a perfect record so far. Celtic lost to a Danish club for the sixth time, having last won in 2006.
16 – Panathinaikos edged Malmo 1-0 thanks to a late Filip Djuricic goal. It’s the Greek side’s first season with multiple group-stage wins in 16 years.
5 – Celta Vigo dominated the first half to beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-0. The Spaniards scored on all three shots on target, marking their third consecutive European away win this season.
2 – A late penalty from Marko Arnautovic secured a 1-0 win for Crvena zvezda against Lille. It was just their second victory over a French side in 27 years.
11 – Basel claimed their second win of the UEL season with a 3-1 home victory over FCSB. Xherdan Shaqiri scored twice as Basel, who played a man up from the 12th minute, extended FCSB’s losing streak to three.
20 – Stuttgart scored two late goals to defeat Feyenoord 2-0. The Dutch side remain winless on the road in seven matches (0-2-5), conceding 20 goals in that run.
15 – AS Roma returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Rangers. First-half goals from Matias Soule and Lorenzo Pellegrini lifted Roma into the middle of the table. Rangers have now lost to Italian teams 15 times.
28 – Viktoria Plzen and Fenerbahce played out a 0-0 draw in the Czech Republic, despite a combined 28 shots (18 for Plzen, 10 for Fener).
10 – Young Boys went down to 10 men early and were routed 4-0 by PAOK Thessaloniki, who had four different scorers. Young Boys have conceded 10 goals in four games, the most in the competition so far.
13 – Genk won a thrilling 4-3 clash against Sporting Braga in Portugal. After going behind early, the Belgians scored four times, holding on for the win. Braga have lost 13 home group-stage games in UEFA competition.
8 – Bologna and Brann played out a 0-0 draw. Despite a first-half red card, the Italians held on, maintaining their unbeaten record in 16 home UEFA ties.
29 – Ferencvaros beat Ludogorets 3-1 at home, keeping up their strong form. The Hungarian side now have 29 all-time goals against Bulgarian opposition in UEFA competition.
14 – Real Betis defeated Olympique Lyonnais 2-0, scoring both goals in the first five minutes. Lyon have now failed to score against a Spanish side for the 14th time in UEFA history.
27 – Aston Villa bounced back from matchday 3 with a 2-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. Dutch duo Ian Maatsen and Donyell Malen scored for the Villans, who secured their 27th UEFA Cup/Europa League victory.
