Team Malta is set to complete its fixtures in the European Aquatics Water Polo Men’s Championship 2026, competing in the classification round to determine final placings from 13th to 16th.

Having concluded a challenging group stage in Group A against powerhouses like Hungary, Montenegro, and France, Malta shifted focus to securing the highest possible ranking in the final phase of the tournament.

Classification Fixtures

Malta’s final three matches are scheduled across three consecutive days:

• Match 4 (Friday, Jan 16, 10:15 CET): Malta is scheduled to face Israel. This match is currently underway or has just finished today. A previous match between the two teams in an earlier tournament saw Malta win in a thrilling penalty shootout.
• Match 5 (Saturday, Jan 17, 12:45 CET): The team plays their second classification match on Saturday. The opponent will be determined by the results of other ongoing classification games.
• Match 6 (Sunday, Jan 18, 10:15 CET): The final match of the championship will be against Slovenia on Sunday morning. Malta previously held a preparatory training programme with the Slovenian national team before the main tournament began.
