The draws for the upcoming BOV Basketball Knock-Out Competitions have officially been held, setting the stage for an exciting period of high-intensity basketball, with the finals scheduled for 10 February 2026.

Organised by Bank of Valletta in collaboration with the Malta Basketball Association, the draw took place in the presence of officials from the participating clubs. The fixtures were drawn by Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at Bank of Valletta, together with Paul Sultana, President of the Malta Basketball Association.

This year’s knock-out competitions will run from 30 January to 10 February 2026, featuring a single-elimination format that guarantees drama and decisive encounters at every stage. A total of six teams will compete in the BOV 1st Division Knockout, while eight teams will battle it out in the BOV Amateur League Knockout.

With no margin for error, each match will be crucial as teams vie for silverware in a format that demands consistency, focus, and resilience. The competitions are expected to deliver thrilling matchups and intense action as clubs push for glory.

Bank of Valletta’s continued partnership with the Malta Basketball Association underlines its commitment to the development of local sport and community involvement. During the draw, Ernest Agius highlighted the importance of such initiatives in encouraging teamwork, perseverance and sporting excellence. Paul Sultana echoed these views, noting the steady growth of basketball in Malta and the anticipation surrounding this year’s tournaments.

The competitions will culminate on 10 February 2026, when champions will be crowned in both divisions. In addition, a Most Valuable Player (MVP) award will be presented in each competition, as selected by a panel of sports journalists, recognising outstanding individual performances throughout the knock-out stages.
