Udinese Calcio returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, ending a three-match losing streak with a commanding 3-0 victory over ACF Fiorentina at the Stadio Friuli.

The Zebras made a flying start and took the lead inside 11 minutes. Christian Kabasele timed his run into the box to perfection, rising unmarked to head home Nicolò Zaniolo’s inviting cross from close range. It marked a dream opening for a side that had managed just two first-half goals across their previous six outings.

Fiorentina, however, refused to back down. Rolando Mandragora had two promising opportunities but failed to trouble the goalkeeper on either occasion.

Udinese could have extended their advantage before the interval. Keinan Davis saw his effort saved, while Zaniolo fired over from a good position. At the other end, Jack Harrison missed with a header and Mandragora squandered another opening, leaving the visitors trailing 1-0 at the break despite their efforts.

After the restart, Udinese — beaten in their previous three matches — continued to look the more dangerous side under coach Kosta Runjaić. Davis spurned another chance but soon made amends. The forward won a penalty following a foul by Daniele Rugani and calmly converted from the spot to double the hosts’ lead.

Fiorentina, coached by Paolo Vanoli, struggled to mount a meaningful response. Although they sent numerous balls into the box, clear chances were scarce. Cher Ndour flicked one effort wide, while Roberto Piccoli also failed to hit the target as time slipped away.

Udinese put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time when Adam Buksa rifled home from inside the area to seal a comprehensive win — only their second home victory in six attempts.

The defeat ends Fiorentina’s two-match winning run and leaves them hovering above the relegation zone on goal difference, while Udinese climb the table with a much-needed and confidence-boosting triumph.
