Three players secure spots on Malta’s National Blackball Team for 2026 Nations Cup
Three players have confirmed their places in the Maltese national Blackball team that will compete in the 2026 Nations Cup in Gibraltar, following crucial victories in the second qualifying tournament held at the Juventus Club Vero Amore in Birkirkara.
The tournament featured highly competitive matches played in a spirit of sportsmanship, with spots on the national squad hanging in the balance.
In the highly anticipated men’s final, Clayton Castaldi secured his place on the team by defeating Wayne Pace with a final score of 10-8 in a tightly contested match.
The under-23 category final saw Nick Muscat emerge victorious over Matthias Debono in another closely fought encounter, winning 9-7.
Finally, in the over-40 seniors’ category, Joseph Tabone delivered a dominant performance to secure a 10-4 victory over Chris Tabone, confirming his spot for the upcoming international tournament.
