San Antonio Spurs deliver late heroics, Utah Jazz survive triple OT thriller

The San Antonio Spurs handled adversity with poise on Sunday, defeating the Sacramento Kings 123-110 despite missing star Victor Wembanyama and losing Stephon Castle to a hip injury.
De’Aaron Fox led the way for the Spurs with a season-high 28 points and 11 assists, while Harrison Barnes added 20 points and Luke Kornet posted a double-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks.
“We did a great job being disciplined in our approach,” Kornet said. “Fox asserted himself.”
The victory lifted San Antonio to 9-4, while Sacramento dropped to 3-11, suffering their sixth consecutive loss. Wembanyama missed his first game of the season due to left calf tightness; the 21-year-old Frenchman is averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.6 blocks per game.
When Castle exited in the second half, Fox praised the team’s resilience:
“We handled it well… When one guy goes down, not just the next man steps up but the whole team steps up. We’re able to withstand those types of things.”
