Rohit, Kohli Lead India to Win in Likely Farewell Tour of Australia

Sydney (Oct. 26) – Rohit Sharma scored a commanding century and Virat Kohli added 74 as India defeated Australia by nine wickets in the third one-day international on Saturday, in what are likely their final appearances in Australia for their country.

Chasing 237, India’s openers and middle-order combined for a 168-run partnership, guiding the tourists to a comfortable win after Australia had been bowled out for 236. The victory gave India a positive finish following series losses in Perth and Adelaide.

“I’ve always loved coming here… a nice way to finish getting that knock and the win,” said Rohit.

Kohli, now the second-highest run-scorer in ODIs behind Sachin Tendulkar, praised the partnership:

“When we bat together, we can really take the game away from the opposition.”

The win marks another highlight in the illustrious careers of the two former captains, who now play exclusively in 50-over cricket.
