Qormi Daikin finish top in Hockey 5s tournament
Qormi Daikin finished top of the standings in this year’s Hockey 5s tournament, which was held at the Kordin Hockey Complex.
Qormi produced a dominant display throughout the competition, recording convincing victories over White Hart and Floriana Young Stars.
They defeated White Hart 13-3 and 8-2 in their two encounters, while also overcoming Floriana Young Stars 7-4 and 7-1 to secure first place in the standings.
In the other matches of the tournament, Floriana Young Stars registered a 2-0 win over White Hart, although White Hart bounced back in the return fixture with a 4-2 victory.
This marked the second consecutive season in which the Hockey 5s competition has been organised, with the format continuing to grow in popularity among players and supporters alike.
Last season, the Malta Hockey Association invested in specialised equipment to facilitate the competition, which offers a faster-paced and more dynamic version of traditional hockey.
