Orlando’s Bane fined by NBA for incident involving O.G. Anunoby

Orlando Magic guard Desmond Bane has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for throwing the game ball at New York Knicks forward O.G. Anunoby in an unsportsmanlike manner.
The incident occurred with 6:13 remaining in the fourth quarter of Orlando’s 106-100 loss to the Knicks on Sunday at Madison Square Garden. Bane was assessed a technical foul after he hurled the ball at Anunoby, who was lying on the court beyond the end line under the basket.
The sequence began as Anunoby drove to the hoop and was knocked down by two of Bane’s teammates, sending all three players to the floor. Bane then grabbed the loose ball and forcefully threw it at Anunoby while he was still on the court.
This is not the first time Bane has faced disciplinary action for a similar incident. Last month, he was ejected from a game against Atlanta after committing a flagrant foul and technical foul, which involved knocking Onyeka Okongwu down and throwing the ball off his head.
Bane is averaging 18.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game this season for Orlando. The Magic sit fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 14-10 record.
