Marcus Rashford Reveals He Loved Playing Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United

Marcus Rashford has reflected on his time at Manchester United, naming the one manager he “loved playing under” and praising him as a “fantastic person.”
The 27-year-old forward, who publicly expressed his desire for a “new challenge” after falling out of favour under current boss Ruben Amorim last season, has since moved on loan to Barcelona. The Spanish club holds a £30 million option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.
Before his recent struggles, Rashford enjoyed some of his best years at United — particularly under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whom he still holds in high regard.
Speaking to Norwegian outlet TV2, Rashford said:
“Ole is a fantastic person. I loved playing under him. I can speak for many of the players at Manchester United when I say that we enjoyed playing for him. We played good football under Ole. It was a very successful period for me personally. He is a fantastic person, and I don’t have a bad word to say about him.”
Rashford’s praise comes with good reason — he enjoyed arguably the best season of his career under Solskjaer in 2020/21, scoring 21 goals and registering 12 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions.
