Manchester City Confirm John Stones Exit This Summer

John Stones is set to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, bringing an emotional close to his 10-year spell at the club.
The defender has made 293 appearances for City and played a key role in one of the most successful eras in the club’s history, including the famous treble-winning campaign in 2023, when they lifted the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Overall, Stones has helped the club secure six Premier League titles, one Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups and the Club World Cup, cementing his place in a golden period for the team.
He announced the decision in a message on Instagram, writing: “They say all good things must come to an end… but what we’ve shared has been incredible, and it will stay with me forever.”
Manchester City have also confirmed his departure, with Stones expected to say his farewell to supporters during the final home game of the season against Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.
“John Stones will depart Manchester City this summer, bringing the curtain down on a memorable and highly successful 10-year spell at the Etihad Stadium.
After joining the club in 2016 as Pep Guardiola’s second signing, the England centre-back has gone on to make 293 appearances, marking a decade of outstanding service.
The 31-year-old has played a major role during the most dominant and successful period in the club’s history, leaving behind an undeniable legacy.”
The England international has been linked with a possible return to Everton as he considers his next move ahead of the summer transfer window. He is also set to leave alongside Bernardo Silva, with both players bringing an end to their time at the club as two key figures from a historic era.
