Maltese players compete in Paris Major Subbuteo tournament
Several Maltese athletes traveled to France last weekend to compete in the highly competitive Paris Major Subbuteo tournament.
In the Open category, Samuel Bartolo achieved a notable result, advancing to the Last 16 stage. Derek Conti and George Ebejer both made it to the barrage rounds, while Mark Gauci and Kurt Polidano were eliminated during the group phase.
In the Veterans category, Charlie Aquilina put in a strong performance to reach the quarter-finals. Jason Pisani also did well, making it to the Last 16.
In the team competition, both Maltese clubs, Bormla and Valletta, reached the quarter-finals. The Bormla team comprised Charlie Aquilina, George Ebejer, Jason Pisani, Bessim Golger, and David Gonzalez. The Valletta team featured Samuel Bartolo, Derek Conti, Mark Gauci, Kurt Polidano, Christophe Dheur, and Sergio Ramos.
