Matchday 19 of the GFA Gozo Football League First Division delivered two entertaining encounters at the Gozo Stadium on Wednesday, with important victories for Għajnsielem FC and Xagħra United FC.

Qala Saints FC 1–2 Għajnsielem FC

Għajnsielem secured all three points with a solid 2–1 win over Qala Saints.

The match got off to a lively start, with Ewertton Jose Spirandelli Costa putting Għajnsielem ahead from the penalty spot on 10 minutes. Qala responded quickly, equalising just four minutes later through Junior Adenilson Ferreira Dos Santos.

The decisive moment came in the 57th minute when Jhon Alejandro Gonzalez Castillo netted the winner to hand Għajnsielem a deserved victory.

SK Victoria Wanderers FC 3–4 Xagħra United FC

In a thrilling second encounter, Xagħra United edged SK Victoria Wanderers in a seven-goal spectacle.

Victoria Wanderers opened the scoring on 16 minutes through Mustapha Lawal Amodu, but Xagħra quickly turned the game around with goals from Ibrahim Salis (21’), Joao Pedro Oliveira Santos (32’), and Yousouf Abedi (33’) to lead 3–1.

The Wanderers fought back strongly, with Ender Duvan Alvarez Vielma scoring twice (45+2’ and 64’) to level the score at 3–3. However, Johann Bajada struck in the 79th minute to secure a dramatic win for Xagħra United.
