Utah Jazz guard Isaiah Collier made NBA history on Tuesday, becoming the youngest player ever to record 20 or more assists in a single game during the team’s 131-122 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

At just 21 years and 118 days old, Collier tallied 22 assists alongside 17 points, coming seven assists short of Jazz legend John Stockton’s franchise single-game record of 28.

The former 29th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft had been averaging 9.5 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game this season prior to the matchup. With this performance, Collier now has six games with at least 10 assists this year — all of which were double-doubles. His previous single-game high was 14 assists during his rookie year, while his season best before Tuesday was 13.

Collier’s sophomore campaign has shown marked improvement. His field goal percentage has jumped from 42% last season to 51% this year, and his three-point shooting has increased from 25% to 30%.

The Jazz, who sit at 16-35 this season, recently bolstered their roster by acquiring Memphis Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr., signaling a push to develop young talent around Collier.
