Reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led defending champion Oklahoma City to a 124–112 home victory over Miami on Sunday, while Anthony Edwards powered Minnesota’s late rally against San Antonio in a 104–103 win.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored 29 points with eight assists and five rebounds, helping the Thunder outscore the Heat 70–53 in the second half to improve their league-best record to 33–7. Jalen Williams added 18 points, and Chet Holmgren contributed 16 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Wiggins led Miami with 23 points. “We locked in defensively,” Thunder guard Aaron Wiggins said. “We were finally able to get some stops, get out in transition, and find our flow.”

Minnesota’s Edwards delivered in the clutch, banking in the game-winner with 16.8 seconds remaining against San Antonio. Edwards finished with 23 points, Donte DiVincenzo added 19, Naz Reid had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Rudy Gobert grabbed 14 boards. Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 29 points but missed a potential game-winning shot in the dying seconds. The result leaves second-place San Antonio (27–12) 5.5 games behind the Thunder, with Minnesota (26–14) 1.5 games back.

In Canada, Toronto edged Philadelphia 116–115 in overtime thanks to Scottie Barnes’ decisive free throw with 0.8 seconds left. Barnes led the Raptors with 31 points, while Tyrese Maxey posted 38 for the 76ers. Jamal Shead’s late jumper forced overtime, and a late foul by Kelly Oubre set up Barnes’ game-winner.

New York defeated Portland 123–114, ending the Trail Blazers’ five-game winning streak. Jalen Brunson scored 26 points, O.G. Anunoby added 24 including two key three-pointers during an 11–0 run, and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds. Deni Avdija led Portland with 25 points.

Denver overcame Milwaukee 108–104 behind Aaron Gordon’s 23 points and Tim Hardaway Jr.’s 26 off the bench. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 31 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds for the Bucks.

Orlando rallied in the fourth quarter to beat New Orleans 128–118, led by Desmond Bane’s 27 points. Memphis completed a 13–0 run to defeat Brooklyn 103–98, with Cedric Coward scoring 21 points and hitting two crucial threes. Phoenix defeated Washington 112–93, led by Royce O’Neale’s 19 points.
