In our weekly roundup, we revisit the standout stories from the past seven days in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors continue to trend upward, the Milwaukee Bucks’ struggles deepen, and Anthony Black delivered one of the most spectacular dunks the league has ever seen.

Team of the Week: Golden State Warriors

After a difficult opening stretch to the season, the seven-time champions are beginning to rediscover their rhythm. Turnovers had plagued Golden State’s offence early on, but their play has noticeably sharpened in 2026.

Impressive high-scoring wins over the Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets last week extended their surge to 11 victories in their last 15 games, pushing them steadily up the Western Conference standings.

If the Warriors can maintain this level of form, they may yet avoid the play-in tournament altogether and secure a coveted top-six spot.

Underperformers of the Week: Milwaukee Bucks

Frustration is growing in Milwaukee. Three consecutive defeats to the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs saw the Bucks slide down the Eastern Conference table and even drop out of the play-in positions.

Despite boasting Giannis Antetokounmpo, consistency has been elusive. With the Bucks ranked 20th defensively and 23rd offensively in the NBA, pressure is mounting on head coach Doc Rivers, who continues to draw heavy criticism from the fanbase.

Player of the Week: James Harden

It was an excellent week for James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers, with “The Beard” playing a central role in three straight victories.

Harden recorded 32 points and 10 assists against the Charlotte Hornets, followed by 22 points and eight assists versus the Washington Wizards, before adding 31 points and 10 assists in a win over the Toronto Raptors.

His performance against Charlotte also saw him move past Shaquille O’Neal into ninth place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, further cementing his legacy.

Play of the Week: Anthony Black

Anthony Black produced a moment for the ages. During the Orlando Magic’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the Berlin Game 2026, Black soared above four defenders to complete a jaw-dropping dunk that instantly went viral.

The NBA later confirmed it had become the most-viewed highlight of the season across its social platforms, racking up more than 85 million views and counting.

Story of the Week: Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves etched their name into the history books despite a 110-105 loss to the Houston Rockets, becoming just the third team in NBA history to score 100 or more points in 100 consecutive games.

They followed that milestone with a thrilling 126-123 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, in which Anthony Edwards poured in a career-high 55 points. Now sitting on a 101-game streak, the Timberwolves will have their sights set on climbing the all-time list, with the Spurs second on 129 games and the Nuggets leading the way on 136.
