Kenneth Taylor close to Lazio switch as Ajax reach full agreement

Kenneth Taylor is set to complete a move to Serie A side Lazio after a full agreement was reached for the transfer of the Ajax midfielder, according to multiple reports on Thursday.
The 23-year-old will join the Italian club for a reported €15 million fee, with a further €2 million in performance-related add-ons, as noted by Fabrizio Romano. Taylor is expected to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract in Rome.
Taylor had been close to joining FC Porto in recent weeks but ultimately opted for a switch to Lazio, turning down interest from both Galatasaray and the Portuguese giants.
The Ajax academy graduate was also close to leaving the Amsterdam club last summer, when Porto explored a deal to reunite him with then-Ajax manager Francesco Farioli, who departed after just one season in charge.
Taylor enjoyed the most productive spell of his career under Farioli, scoring nine goals and registering six assists in the league as Ajax narrowly missed out on their 37th Eredivisie title. This season, he has contributed two goals and two assists across 21 appearances in all competitions.
Since making his senior debut in 2020, Taylor has gone on to make 184 appearances for Ajax, scoring 36 goals and providing 27 assists, before now embarking on the next chapter of his career in Italy.
