Liverpool manager Arne Slot is preparing for face-to-face discussions with Mohamed Salah as the forward considers his future at Anfield.

Tension escalated after the Egyptian international suggested the club had thrown him “under the bus” in the aftermath of Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Saturday—a remark followed by his omission from the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

Salah’s frustration stemmed from being left on the bench for a third consecutive Premier League match as Slot continues to reshape his team and search for answers to their poor run of form. Their narrow 1-0 win over Inter may offer some relief, but the uncertainty surrounding Salah remains.

According to The Mirror, Slot will speak directly with Salah amid growing interest from clubs in both the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer. The report names Al Hilal, Al Qadisiyah and Neom as potential suitors, while MLS sides San Diego and Chicago Fire are also believed to be positioning themselves for a move.

Five days have passed since Salah’s explosive interview, which dominated headlines throughout the week, yet neither the player nor the club has issued further comment—aside from his notable absence from the Champions League squad.

Asked whether the winger had already played his final game for Liverpool, Slot admitted: “I have no clue. I cannot answer that question at this moment in time.”

Earlier in the week, Slot hinted that any apology should originate from Salah rather than from himself, leaving supporters eagerly awaiting developments in what has become a highly charged situation.

“Everyone makes mistakes in life,” Slot said. “But the question is: does the player think he’s made a mistake? And should the initiative come from him or from me? That’s something we still have to determine.”
