NBA Roundup: Curry Leads Warriors Past Spurs, Jokic Stars in Nuggets Win

Stephen Curry scored 46 points as the Golden State Warriors rallied to a 125-120 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, while Nikola Jokic delivered a 55-point masterclass to lead the Denver Nuggets past the Los Angeles Clippers 130-116.
Curry poured in 31 of his points in the second half, helping the Warriors hand the Spurs their first home loss of the season and snap a three-game winning streak. San Antonio’s stars, Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, recorded triple-doubles, with Wembanyama posting 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Castle adding 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
San Antonio led by 16 in the second quarter, but the Warriors closed the gap to seven at halftime and seized control in the third.
“That third quarter is what we do,” Curry said. “Getting stops, pushing, creating easy offense, and thankfully I was able to knock a couple down. We didn’t make a lot of shots in the first half, but everyone kept their confidence and composure.”
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a harsh defeat in Oklahoma City, falling 121-92 to the Thunder. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge with 30 points, five rebounds, nine assists, and two steals. Oklahoma City led by as many as 37 points, with starters resting in the fourth quarter. Doncic finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists before being subbed out. The Thunder improved to a league-best 12-1.
“We definitely got better the last two days, and that’s the main goal,” Gilgeous-Alexander said after back-to-back wins over the Warriors and Lakers.
Jokic’s 55-point showcase
Denver’s three-time MVP Jokic was unstoppable against the Clippers, scoring 55 points on 18-of-23 shooting, including five of six from three-point range, along with 12 rebounds, six assists, a steal, and a block. He scored 25 points in the first quarter and added 19 in the third, securing his fifth career 50-plus point game. Jokic’s performance matched the season-high scoring mark set by Gilgeous-Alexander in October.
