Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has stressed the importance of tuning out external noise and staying focused as the Gunners lead the Premier League by four points after 11 games. His comments came ahead of England’s World Cup qualifier against Serbia at Wembley.

Arsenal sit on 26 points following eight wins and two draws, having been held 2-2 by Sunderland last weekend. Manchester City, meanwhile, narrowed the gap with a 3-0 victory over Liverpool.

Despite conceding just five league goals so far, Saka insisted Arsenal were not getting ahead of themselves.

“We just have to win every game, that’s the mentality we go into each match with, and then see where it leaves us,” he told talkSPORT.

“We cannot get carried away with what people are saying. One day they say one thing, the next day something else. People’s opinions change like the weather. The most important thing is our dressing room, the foundation, and the belief we have in ourselves.”

Arsenal have finished as runners-up for three consecutive seasons under Mikel Arteta, narrowly missing out in 2022–23 and 2023–24 before finishing further behind last year. The club remains in pursuit of their first league title in two decades.

After the international break, Arsenal will host fifth-placed rivals Tottenham Hotspur on November 23.

Saka is preparing for England’s World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania. England became the first European nation to secure qualification for next year’s tournament in North America, having won all six of their group matches.
