Elliot Anderson continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United, but there is growing speculation that Liverpool could also be a potential landing spot for the promising midfielder.

United’s interest in Anderson is genuine, though sources suggest it’s still early days, and the club is yet to determine if he is the ideal profile to pair alongside Bruno Fernandes in midfield. The Red Devils are monitoring him along with other prospects, including Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, and Brentford’s Yehor Yarmoliuk. While Angelo Stiller has been heavily linked recently, he is not currently a priority target.

Anderson’s trajectory points toward a move to a bigger club in the near future. He joined Nottingham Forest from Newcastle United for £35 million, and insiders expect that any transfer in the next one or two windows would likely command at least double that fee.

Liverpool are now reported to be among the clubs keeping a close eye on Anderson, alongside Manchester City — who remain concerned about Rodri’s long-term fitness — and a potential return to Newcastle. With the Reds expected to target a central midfielder next summer, Anderson could be a prime candidate.

Anderson is also set to participate in the World Cup with England. After the tournament, if no January move materializes, he is likely to be one of the most sought-after midfielders in the transfer market.
