Qormi Daikin and Floriana Young Stars to meet in Knock-Out final


Qormi Daikin and Floriana Young Stars will contest the Knock-Out final after both secured victories in the semifinals played over the weekend.
Qormi Daikin were made to work hard for a 6–4 win over GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks. Żurrieq led 1–0 at the end of the first quarter, but Qormi responded strongly in the second to turn the match in their favour. Despite the comeback, Żurrieq remained competitive throughout and stayed close to the newly crowned local hockey champions until the end.

Qormi’s goals were scored by Juan Sarcia, Kyle Micallef, Nathan Pace Gasan, Justin Zahra, Tommy Kok and Shawn Dimech. For Żurrieq, Christ Agius stood out with a hat-trick, while Alessandro Amore also found the net. The umpires were Karl Chircop and James Mizzi.
In the other semifinal, Floriana Young Stars produced a dominant performance to defeat White Hart 5–0. Mark Camilleri was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick, while Joe Ellul Turner, Anton Saliba and Andrea Curmi also got on the scoresheet. The match was officiated by Keith Calleja and Silvio Peralta.

The final will be played on Saturday 16 May at the Kordin Hockey Complex.
In the Under-12 category, GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks defeated Floriana Young Stars 5–2. Żurrieq controlled the match for long periods, with Floriana attempting to mount a response. Adam White scored a hat-trick for Żurrieq, while Thomas White and Jacob White added further goals. Giuseppe Schembri and Craig Camilleri scored for Floriana. The match was officiated by Jerome Carabott and Oscar Toledano.
