Richarlison out for seven weeks in latest Tottenham injury setback

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered another setback after forward Richarlison was ruled out for nearly two months with a hamstring injury, head coach Thomas Frank confirmed on Thursday. The news comes ahead of Saturday’s London derby against West Ham United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Brazilian has been a key figure in Spurs’ attack this season, scoring seven Premier League goals and registering three assists. His absence further limits Tottenham’s options in the final third.
“Richy unfortunately picked up a hamstring injury that will keep him out for up to seven weeks,” Frank told reporters.
Richarlison’s injury adds to Tottenham’s frustrations as they look to respond to their FA Cup third-round exit at home to Aston Villa. Despite the occasion, Frank insisted his side must focus on their own performance rather than the derby atmosphere.
“I know it’s a big London derby with the rivalry and everything, but it’s all about us,” he said. “It’s about how we show energy, positivity, and play on the front foot.”
There was some positive news on the fitness front. Midfielder Yves Bissouma is expected to return after Ivory Coast’s quarter-final exit, while Lucas Bergvall could also be available. Destiny Udogie and Dominic Solanke are closing in on full fitness, and captain Cristian Romero will return after serving a one-match suspension.
Tottenham currently sit 14th in the Premier League table with 27 points from 21 matches. West Ham, meanwhile, are in the relegation zone with 14 points, seven adrift of safety.
Frank also spoke highly of Tottenham’s recent signing of Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid, describing the midfielder as a “top signing.”
“First and foremost, he’s a very good player,” Frank said. “He has great Premier League experience, experience in La Liga, has captained teams, and brings leadership and character. He’s still young, but very experienced.”
