Valletta Knights emerged victorious in the 2026 BOV Amateur League Knock-Out Competition, securing the title with an 87–74 victory over Luxol Neo in a thrilling final held on 10 February 2026.

The tournament, which featured eight teams in an intense single-elimination format, was part of the broader BOV Basketball Knock-Out programme held between 30 January and 10 February.

Final Highlights: Valletta vs. Luxol Neo

The championship game began with high intensity as both sides traded baskets. Luxol held a slim 14–11 lead late in the first quarter behind strong play from Goc and Iloube, but a late surge saw Valletta end the opening session ahead 21–16.

The second quarter was a battle of momentum. Valletta initially stretched their lead to double digits, but Luxol fought back. A “and-one” play by Goc brought Luxol within a single point, and the teams headed into the locker rooms deadlocked at 48–48.

The third quarter proved to be the turning point. Joshua Reding sparked a Valletta run with a quick five-point burst, and Acrie Jr delivered consecutive baskets to extend the lead. By the end of the period, the Knights had established a commanding 70–59 advantage.

In the final frame, Valletta maintained their composure. Despite Luxol’s efforts to narrow the gap to 10 points with two minutes remaining, Valletta’s scoring balance ensured an 87–74 win.

MVP and Trophy Presentation

Following the match, the BOV Amateur League Knock-Out Trophy was presented to the Valletta Knights by Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at Bank of Valletta, and Paul Sultana, President of the Malta Basketball Association.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award was presented to Valletta’s Alexander Miletic. Miletic was the standout performer of the final, contributing a game-high 27 points, including five successful three-pointers, to lead his team to glory.
