Tottenham Hotspur are set to appoint Igor Tudor as interim manager until the end of the season following the sacking of Thomas Frank, according to reports on Friday.

Tudor, 47, is understood to have reached a verbal agreement with the club, with a formal announcement expected imminently.

The Croatian coach was dismissed by Juventus in October after an eight-match winless run left the Italian giants in eighth place in Serie A. He has previously managed Lazio, Marseille, Hellas Verona, Hajduk Split, Galatasaray, and Udinese.

At Juventus, Tudor inherited a side outside the Champions League places late in the 2024-25 campaign, but he guided them to fourth in the table after losing just one of his first 11 games in charge.

Once confirmed at Tottenham, Tudor will be tasked with stabilising the team after Frank’s dismissal on Wednesday, following a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United. Spurs are currently just five points above the Premier League relegation zone.

Frank, who took over from Ange Postecoglou last year, paid the price for a run of just two wins in 17 league games. Tottenham’s squad has been given time off until Monday due to a lack of fixtures following their FA Cup exit in January, with Tudor expected to be in place when training resumes.

The decision to hire an interim manager mirrors the approach used by Manchester United, who appointed Michael Carrick temporarily after dismissing Ruben Amorim.

Tottenham had also been linked with former Edin Terzić and ex-Marco Rose prior to reports of an agreement with Tudor.

Long-term candidates for the Tottenham job are expected to include former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who may be available after his United States commitments at the World Cup in June and July.

Spurs’ next fixture is the north London derby against Arsenal at home on February 22.
