Tottenham boss provides injury update on Dominic Solanke after Wolves win

Tottenham Hotspur will monitor the fitness of Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons after both were forced off during Saturday’s 1-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, handing manager Roberto De Zerbi fresh injury concerns as his side continue their relegation battle.
Solanke was withdrawn in the 40th minute with a suspected muscular problem, while Simons was taken off in the 63rd minute after picking up a knee issue.
Despite the setbacks, an 82nd-minute winner from João Palhinha sealed Tottenham’s first league victory in 16 matches at Molineux. The result leaves Spurs 18th in the table on 34 points from 34 games, just two points from safety.
“Solanke has a muscular injury. I don’t know the severity yet, and for Xavi it is a knee problem. We will assess both in the coming days, probably Monday or Tuesday,” De Zerbi told reporters.
“For Solanke, it’s not a major issue. I don’t know how many games we will miss him for, but I want to understand the full situation with Xavi, because knee injuries are always different from muscular problems.”
Tottenham Hotspur, who are facing the possibility of their first relegation from top-flight football since 1977, have four matches left to play and travel to Aston Villa on Sunday.
