Mohamed Salah will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during Liverpool FC’s 3-1 Premier League win over Crystal Palace, according to Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan.

The 33-year-old winger, who has already announced he will leave the Premier League champions at the end of the campaign, was applauded by supporters as he left the pitch in the 60th minute.

Liverpool have yet to issue an official update on his condition, but Hassan said the Egyptian star has already played his final match for the club.

“He has suffered a hamstring tear and will require four weeks of treatment,” Hassan told Reuters.

After nine trophy-filled seasons at Anfield, Salah’s time at Liverpool appears to be coming to an end, with a planned farewell expected after the final game of the season against Brentford FC.

Liverpool still have two remaining home games this season, facing Chelsea on May 9 and Brentford on May 24, while also travelling to Manchester United on May 3—a fixture in which Mohamed Salah has often been influential—and Aston Villa on May 17.

The Egyptian forward, Liverpool’s third-highest scorer in the club’s history, has contributed 12 goals and nine assists across all competitions this season.

Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan confirmed that Salah is expected to be fit for the 2026 World Cup, where Egypt will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran.

Salah is reportedly focused on recovering in time for the tournament in North America, which begins on June 11, aiming to avoid a repeat of the injury setback he suffered ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

On that occasion, he sustained a shoulder injury in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid. Although he still scored twice during the tournament, Egypt were eliminated at the group stage in Russia.
