Torino salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw against Fiorentina thanks to Guillermo Maripán’s 94th-minute equaliser, marking the third consecutive stalemate in head-to-head clashes between the sides.

The opening 10 minutes at Stadio Artemio Franchi were lively, with both teams coming close to breaking the deadlock. Torino’s Sandro Kulenovic saw a deflected effort narrowly miss, while Fiorentina’s Moise Kean lifted a bouncing ball over the crossbar at the other end.

The first goal eventually arrived before half-time. Cesare Casadei, who had missed Wednesday’s Coppa Italia defeat to Inter due to illness, guided a precise header past the goalkeeper from Emirhan Ilkhan’s pinpoint cross, following a well-timed run behind Fiorentina right-back Dodo.

Torino looked to extend their advantage, but Marco Brescianini and Rolando Mandragora were both denied in quick succession by Fiorentina goalkeeper Alberto Paleari, allowing the visitors to hold a slim lead at the break — only the second time Torino had led in a Serie A match this season.

Fiorentina quickly responded after the interval. Manor Solomon levelled with a stunning long-range strike, curling the ball beyond the outstretched Paleari to score in consecutive games. Minutes later, Solomon orchestrated a move that allowed winter signing Jack Harrison to tee up Moise Kean, who finished emphatically first-time to put the hosts ahead.

Torino struggled to regain momentum until the closing stages. Duván Zapata saw his initial effort saved by David de Gea, but the Italian defender was powerless moments later. Maripán rose highest in the box to glance a free-kick into the far corner, snatching a dramatic equaliser and keeping Torino’s Serie A survival hopes alive, even as they remain in the bottom three after a third consecutive league match without a win.
