VfB Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav has been on a remarkable scoring run in recent weeks, and he will be hoping to extend that streak when Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich visit on Saturday.

The 29-year-old has already netted nine goals across all competitions this season, most of them coming after he recovered from a knee ligament injury sustained on the second matchday, which sidelined him for several weeks.

November has been particularly productive for Undav, who scored six of Stuttgart’s eight Bundesliga goals that month, signaling a full return to form and boosting his hopes of making Germany’s World Cup squad next year.

“I don’t even know how many I’ve scored,” Undav admitted after scoring in Wednesday’s 2-0 German Cup victory over VfL Bochum. “I thought it was eight goals. What matters is I keep going. There will be times I don’t score, so I need to push on as long as possible.”

Despite not being called up for recent international fixtures, Undav is aware that his current form has put him back in contention for Germany’s squad for the tournament co-hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

“The road to March is long,” he added, referring to Germany’s next international matches as they prepare for the World Cup.

Bayern Munich, meanwhile, sit comfortably atop the Bundesliga with 34 points, eight ahead of second-placed RB Leipzig. Yet, the champions have shown vulnerability at the back.

They lost 3-1 to Arsenal in the Champions League last week and required late goals to secure a 3-1 comeback win over St. Pauli in the Bundesliga—a second consecutive game where they came from behind. Bayern also struggled at Union Berlin before eventually winning 3-2 in Wednesday’s German Cup last-16 tie.

Undav and Stuttgart will hope to exploit those defensive frailties when the teams clash on Saturday.

Elsewhere, RB Leipzig host seventh-placed Eintracht Frankfurt in Saturday’s late game, while Borussia Dortmund, third on 25 points, face Hoffenheim on Sunday.
