Sean Dyche acknowledges Nottingham Forest’s willingness to play the tough game

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche praised his players for embracing the tougher, more physical side of football after their disciplined and gritty performance secured a stunning 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Goals from Murillo, Nicolo Savona, and Morgan Gibbs-White handed the defending champions their sixth defeat in seven league games, marking Liverpool’s heaviest home league loss in over a decade.
Since replacing Ange Postecoglou in October, Dyche has guided Forest out of the relegation zone and up to 16th in the Premier League table. Under his leadership, the team has recorded two wins, a draw, and one loss in four league games.
“Of course, it’s to be enjoyed—it’s for the fans and the players—but we have to go again,” Dyche told reporters. “Everything isn’t solved, but it’s a strong marker for this group. Now they are fully committed to the cause. You wouldn’t be a Premier League player if you didn’t have talent, but what about the hard yards? The ugly side of the game? Staying focused on the job—I thought that was excellent.”
Forest famously defeated Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield last season, handing the champions their only home defeat of their title-winning campaign.
“Last year, this club used that win at Anfield as a catalyst, and they carried on,” Dyche added. “We hope for the same, but it doesn’t guarantee the next one.”
Forest now turn their attention to the Europa League, hosting Malmo FF on Thursday before returning to Premier League action against Brighton & Hove Albion on November 30.
