Schaper soars to back-to-back DP World Tour victories after playoff Eagles

South Africa’s Jayden Schaper continued his sensational run on the DP World Tour by chipping in for eagle on the second playoff hole to win the Mauritius Open on Sunday.
The 24-year-old edged American Ryan Gerard in the playoff at Heritage La Reserve Golf Links after both players finished tied at 22-under-par in challenging, windy conditions. Schaper carded a final-round 64, while Gerard closed with a 66.
The victory marks Schaper’s second consecutive DP World Tour title, coming just a week after he claimed the Alfred Dunhill Championship with an eagle on the first extra hole. The week before that, he tied for second at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City, giving him finishes of second, first, and first in his last three starts.
“That’s just insane,” Schaper said. “The last three weeks have been incredible.
“I believe in myself now. I’m trusting my game and the work that I’m putting in. I’ve got such a great team behind me, so everything is pretty solid at the moment.”
