Weightlifter Rylee Borg has been named the November winner of the Atlas Youth Athletes of the Month Award in the Local category, following an outstanding series of performances on both the local and international stage.

Borg impressed at the National Championships, where he claimed victory in the Under 20 category and set three new national records, underlining his status as one of Malta’s most promising young weightlifters. His latest achievement crowns a highly successful season which also saw him finish an excellent fourth place at the European Junior Championships in Albania, competing in the highly competitive 88kg category.

In the Foreign category for November, the award goes to young karting driver Kimi Bugeja, who continues to make a strong impression abroad. Bugeja was recognised after being crowned overall winner in the GR3 Under 10 category during the Campionato Karting Sicilia, a notable success against international competition.

The Atlas Youth Athletes of the Month Award was presented by Atlas Insurance Chief Commercial Officer Robert Micallef. The Malta Sports Journalists Association was represented during the presentation by its President Antvin Monseigneur, together with Chris Francalanza.

The award is a joint initiative between the Malta Sports Journalists Association and Atlas Insurance. Each month, the adjudicating panel reviews youth sporting achievements during the period under consideration and invites local sports associations and federations to submit nominations for athletes under the age of 21 who have distinguished themselves in their respective disciplines. All monthly winners automatically become eligible for the annual Atlas Youth Athlete of the Year Award.
