Rashford and Fermin Shine as Barcelona Cruise Past Olympiacos

Fermín López produced a stunning hat-trick at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys as Barcelona crushed Olympiacos 6–1 in the UEFA Champions League, extending their flawless home record against Greek opposition to eight matches.
Olympiacos showed early intent, with Daniel Podence forcing Wojciech Szczęsny into a save inside 20 seconds. But once Barcelona found their rhythm, there was no stopping them. After Marcus Rashford narrowly missed with an improvised effort, Fermín exchanged passes with Lamine Yamal before firing home through a crowd of defenders to open the scoring.
Rashford came close again soon after, drilling a free kick into the side netting, while at the other end Szczęsny was relieved to see Dani Garcia’s deflected strike drop onto the roof of the net. The visitors sensed some vulnerability in the Barça backline, with Gelson Martins and Lorenzo Pirola both threatening, but their hopes suffered a blow when Chiquinho limped off injured just before the half-hour mark.
Barcelona quickly capitalized on the disruption. Jules Koundé went close with a header before Fermín doubled the lead in the 39th minute, pouncing on a loose ball after good work from Dario Fernández to make it 2–0.
Fermín almost completed his hat-trick early in the second half, but his glancing header was well saved by Konstantinos Tzolakis. Olympiacos briefly clawed their way back when Ayoub El Kaabi converted a penalty — his initial header having been ruled out for offside — to make it 2–1.
However, any hopes of a comeback were short-lived. Santiago Hezze received a second yellow card just minutes later for a foul on Marc Casadó, reducing the visitors to ten men. Barcelona immediately made their advantage count as Tzolakis brought down Rashford in the box, allowing Yamal to calmly roll home from the spot.
What followed was a five-minute blitz that sealed a memorable night for Xavi’s men. Rashford struck twice in quick succession with superb finishes, while Fermín completed his hat-trick between those goals to round off an emphatic 6–1 victory.
The result was the perfect response to Barcelona’s defeat against Paris Saint-Germain, giving them two wins from three group-stage matches. Olympiacos, meanwhile, remain stranded on one point, having now lost three of their last four games in all competitions.
