Qormi Daikin secure their first two wins
Qormi Daikin achieved their first two victories in the opening round of the Hockey 5s tournament, held at the Hockey Complex in Kordin.
The Qormi team, led by Andre Ghio, defeated Floriana Young Stars 4-3 and White Hart 7-1 in matches they controlled from start to finish.
The second round of Hockey 5s will be played on Sunday, 15th March. This is the second edition of this tournament, which has become very popular. Recently, the Malta Hockey Association purchased new equipment to facilitate this format of the game.
Meanwhile, in other results from Hockey 7s, Qormi Daikin and GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks ended in a 2-2 draw.
Giorgio Muscat and Neil Spiteri Montebello scored for Qormi Daikin, while Jayden Cutajar and Kieran Borg replied for Żurrieq.
The match was officiated by Karl Chircop and Silvio Peralta.
Finally, in the Under-12 Championship, Marsaskala Heat defeated GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks.
Umpires for this match were Oscar Toledano and Silvio Peralta.
