Nuno Espirito Santo urges West Ham star Adama Traore to avoid gym workouts

West Ham United winger Adama Traore has been instructed to avoid lifting weights at the club’s gym, with manager Nuno Espirito Santo saying the 30-year-old is already physically imposing enough.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers star is famous for his muscular frame. Last week, teammate Crysencio Summerville shared a video on social media showing Traore bench-pressing 145 kg.
“It’s incredible—his physique is genetic,” Espirito Santo said during a news conference ahead of West Ham’s crucial Premier League clash with London rivals Fulham. “But his genetics have been like this for some time, and he should avoid the gym. I’ve told him to stay out. It’s enough weight that he carries.”
Traore joined West Ham from Fulham in January and has made four substitute league appearances so far. Espirito Santo, who previously worked with Traore at Wolves, believes the Spaniard could play a key role in the club’s relegation fight.
“Traore’s unique,” the manager added. “There aren’t many players in world football with his ability, pace, and one-on-one skills. He’s a talent we have to take advantage of, but it will take time. He needs to adapt and understand the team’s dynamics. He’s proven himself in England and with the Spain national squad, so we’re talking about a top-level player.”
Traore, a product of Barcelona’s youth system, has been recorded reaching speeds of 37 km/h and once claimed he could outrun Olympic legend Usain Bolt in a short sprint on grass.
