Patrick Mahomes produced another signature late-game heroics as the Kansas City Chiefs kept their playoff hopes alive with a 23-20 overtime victory over the in-form Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Trailing 20-9 in the fourth quarter, Mahomes orchestrated a comeback, culminating in Harrison Butker’s 27-yard field goal in overtime to seal the win.

“This is exactly what we needed against a really good football team when the game’s not going your way,” Mahomes said. “We could have folded in that situation, but the guys responded and found a way to win. We needed a win like this—now let’s try and build off it.” Mahomes finished with 352 passing yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.

The Chiefs, four-time Super Bowl champions, entered the game at Arrowhead Stadium knowing a loss could have marked the end of their dynasty, sitting outside playoff contention with six games remaining. Instead, the victory lifted them to 6-5, keeping alive their streak of 11 consecutive postseason appearances—a run highlighted by five Super Bowl trips since 2019-2020.

The Colts, who fell to 8-3, had dominated much of the game. Quarterback Daniel Jones threw two touchdowns, and Michael Badgley added two third-quarter field goals to give Indianapolis a 20-9 lead. Yet Mahomes engineered a 56-yard drive for a Kareem Hunt touchdown and a two-point conversion to cut it to 20-17. He then led an 87-yard drive to tie the game with Butker’s field goal as regulation expired. After the Colts punted in overtime, Mahomes guided an 81-yard drive to set up the game-winning kick.

Rams Cruise Past Buccaneers
Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Rams solidified their spot atop the NFC with a 34-7 home win over Tampa Bay. Matthew Stafford threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Davante Adams. Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield exited in the first half with a left shoulder injury, replaced by Teddy Bridgewater.

Cowboys Stun Eagles
In Texas, the Dallas Cowboys pulled off a remarkable comeback against reigning Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles, rallying from a 21-0 deficit to win 24-21 on Brandon Aubrey’s 42-yard game-winning field goal. The victory improved Dallas to 5-5-1, while the Eagles fell to 8-3 in the NFC East.
