After Week 8 action, here’s a look at the top rookies as the NFL heads into Week 9.

Offensive Rookie of the Year Rankings

  1. Tyler Warren (TE) – Indianapolis Colts
Warren’s production dipped in Week 9 as the Colts struggled offensively against Pittsburgh’s stout defense. He still caught five passes but was held under 50 yards for the third time this season, dropping to second among tight ends in receiving yards (518), behind Travis Kelce (540). Warren remains at the top of our OROTY tracker and needs 210 more yards to surpass Colts legend John Mackey for the franchise record.
  2. Emeka Egbuka (WR) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Egbuka has cooled off over the past three games, posting just 35 yards on three receptions despite nine targets. He has five touchdowns on the season but hasn’t scored in the last three games. With 562 receiving yards, Egbuka remains a top contender, though continued drops in production could threaten his position.
  3. Tetairoa McMillan (WR) – Carolina Panthers
McMillan trails Egbuka by just five yards (558) and is pushing hard to overtake him. While his two touchdowns lag behind Egbuka’s five, McMillan has been a focal point in the Panthers’ offense, leading his team with six targets in the upset over Green Bay.
  4. Ashton Jeanty (RB) – Las Vegas Raiders
Jeanty scored his second touchdown in four games in Week 9, totaling 89 yards on the day. He has 487 rushing yards, narrowly surpassing Quinshon Judkins. Despite the Raiders’ offensive line struggles, Jeanty continues to showcase his potential.
  5. Quinshon Judkins (RB) – Cleveland Browns
On a Week 9 bye, Judkins slipped slightly in the rankings. He has struggled in recent games due to the Browns’ pass-heavy approach and has not averaged over 4.0 yards per carry in the last three contests. His OROTY candidacy remains intact if he rebounds after the bye.

Defensive Rookie of the Year Rankings

  1. Carson Schwesinger (LB) – Cleveland Browns
Schwesinger retains the top spot despite the Browns’ bye week. He leads the team with 64 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and three QB hits.
  2. Jihaad Campbell (LB) – Philadelphia Eagles
Also on a bye, Campbell’s 45 tackles, two pass deflections, one interception, and a forced fumble keep him in contention. He has performed well in coverage, allowing 14 receptions on 18 targets for 160 yards and one touchdown.
  3. Jacob Parrish (CB) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Parrish, on a bye as well, has 41 tackles, three sacks, three stuffs, and one QB hit while allowing just 27 receptions on 33 targets for 257 yards and two touchdowns. He has consistently limited opposing receivers, rarely giving up more than 50 yards in a game.
  4. Will Johnson (CB) – Arizona Cardinals
Returning from his bye week, Johnson allowed four receptions for 43 yards with one pass breakup. While his coverage grades are strong, he trails Parrish in run defense and pass rush production. Week 10 will be a critical test for him to reassert his DROTY candidacy.

The rookie races remain competitive on both sides of the ball as we head into Week 10, with top contenders needing to maintain consistency to stay atop the OROTY and DROTY leaderboards.
