New York Jets CB Boyd Hospitalized in Critical Condition Following Manhattan Shooting

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical but stable condition after being shot in the abdomen early Sunday morning, according to US media reports.
The incident took place outside a Midtown Manhattan restaurant following a dispute that reportedly turned violent, with a gunman firing two shots. Boyd was quickly transported to a local hospital. The New York Police Department confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, though no arrests have been made.
Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson took to social media to ask for prayers for his teammate:
“Lord, please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety. Lord, I ask that you please just get him through this safely,” Johnson wrote.
Boyd, 29, signed a one-year contract with the Jets in free agency but has not appeared in a game this season due to a preseason shoulder injury. He previously played for Minnesota, Arizona, and Houston.
