The Oklahoma City Thunder stormed past the New Orleans Pelicans to maintain their grip atop the NBA Western Conference, while the Detroit Pistons extended their Eastern Conference dominance with a 10th consecutive win on Monday.

The defending NBA champions improved to 14-1 with a 126-109 road victory over New Orleans. Chet Holmgren led the way with 26 points, supported by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 23. The Thunder set the tone early, scoring a franchise-record 49 points in the first quarter, effectively putting the game out of reach.

Oklahoma City’s balanced attack shone, with six players reaching double figures in a convincing wire-to-wire win. Gilgeous-Alexander continued his remarkable streak, logging 87 consecutive games with 20 or more points, trailing only NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain, who recorded streaks of 92 and 126 games.

For the Pelicans, Jeremiah Fears led the scoring with 24 points, but New Orleans suffered their 12th loss of the season.

The Thunder remain atop the Western Conference, ahead of second-placed Denver, who fell 130-127 to the Chicago Bulls. Nikola Jokic posted a 36-point triple-double, but the Bulls held off a late surge, fueled by at least 20 points each from Josh Giddey, Ayo Dosunmu, and Kevin Huerter. Chicago’s 19 three-pointers helped them snap a five-game losing streak, ending Denver’s seven-game winning run.

In Detroit, the Pistons kept up their impressive form, defeating the struggling Indiana Pacers 127-112 to extend their winning streak to 10 games. Despite missing Cade Cunningham and Tobias Harris, Detroit’s balanced attack thrived, led by Jalen Duren’s 31 points and Daniss Jenkins’ 26. Five Pistons players finished in double digits.

Indiana, coming off a heavy defeat to Oklahoma City in last season’s playoffs, remain at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 1-13 record. “We’ve gotta be better, really, in all areas,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle admitted.

Elsewhere, Donovan Mitchell’s 37 points powered the Cleveland Cavaliers past the Milwaukee Bucks 118-106. Milwaukee jumped out to a 14-point lead in the first quarter but were gradually overtaken by Cleveland. The Bucks’ defeat was further compounded by a groin injury to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who exited in the second quarter. “We won’t know anything until tomorrow, but it didn’t look great,” Bucks coach Doc Rivers said.
