Mosta survive Mqabba scare in thrilling FA Trophy Shootout

Mosta needed a penalty shootout to overcome a determined Mqabba side from the Amateur League I, securing their place in the Last 16 of the FA Trophy after a dramatic encounter. The match was an evenly poised affair that ended 1–1 after extra time at the Centenary Stadium.
The initial drama occurred early in the match with both sides missing penalties within minutes of each other; Emmanuel Prince Chibuzor failed to convert for Mosta, quickly followed by Mqabba’s Luka Mijic doing the same. Neither team could find a breakthrough in normal time.
The real excitement was reserved for the final moments of extra time. Mosta seemed to have won it when Ibrahim Halliru scored with just a minute left on the clock. However, Mqabba showcased incredible resilience, scoring a dramatic equalizer a minute later to force a shootout. Mosta ultimately held their nerve in the spot-kicks, prevailing 4-3.
