However, Mqabba showcased incredible resilience, scoring a dramatic equalizer a minute later to force a shootout. Mosta ultimately held their nerve in the spot-kicks, prevailing 4-3.

Naxxar Lions secured a more comfortable passage with a routine 3-0 victory over Challenge League opposition Marsa. The Lions dominated the match, waiting until the 40th minute for Vinicius Baiano to break the deadlock. Brazilian striker Vitinho then took centre stage after the break, scoring twice in the second half to seal Naxxar’s qualification.

In the day’s opening clash, Challenge League side Pieta Hotspurs broke little sweat in a convincing 5-0 win over Mtarfa, with goals coming from Nicholas Pisani, Sami, Arthur Santana, Arthur Felippe, and Emanuel Bio.
