MFPA extend winning run in Malta Veterans Premier League

The Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) continued their consistent start to the Malta Veterans Premier League season by registering a fourth successive victory, overcoming Rabat Veterans 5–3.
MFPA were made to work hard for the points as Rabat showed plenty of determination, but the latter were ultimately unable to take anything from the encounter. George Frendo led the way for MFPA with a brace, while Thomas Paris, Alexander Ribic and Jonathan Bondin also found the net. Rabat’s resistance came through two goals from Andre Scicluna and another by Andy Mangion. The match was officiated by Paul Apap.
Second-placed Gżira United were forced to settle for a 3–3 draw against Hibernians in an entertaining contest. Despite missing several key players, Gżira remained competitive, with Kevin Sammut producing a fine individual display by scoring all three of his team’s goals. Hibernians capitalised on their chances through a double by Beppe Antignolo and a goal from Glanville Goodlip. Paul Apap was again in charge as referee.
Luxol St Andrew’s kept up their strong form with an emphatic 6–3 victory over Birkirkara St Helen’s. Glenn Bonello was the star of the show with a hat-trick, while Nenad Stankic struck twice and Tyron Borg added another. Birkirkara replied through Federico Marine Tejada, Malcolm Camilleri and Gilbert Camilleri. The match was refereed by Jonathan Balzan.
Floriana also enjoyed a positive outing, claiming their third win of the campaign with a 4–2 success over Żurrieq Wolves. Bojan Kaljević inspired Floriana with a hat-trick, supported by a goal from Manolito Micallef. Giuseppe Muscat scored both goals for Żurrieq Wolves. Jonathan Balzan officiated the match.
