MFPA extend lead at the Top as Rabat Veterans claim first win

MFPA strengthened their position at the top of the Malta Veterans Premier League standings after recording an emphatic 13–5 victory over Luxol St Andrew’s.
The Malta Football Players Association side dominated the match from start to finish, taking full advantage of a Luxol team that was missing several key players. Alexander Ribic was the standout performer, scoring an impressive seven goals, while Stanimir Miloskovic added four more. Jonathan Bondin and Emanuel Sevasta also found the net for the winners.

Luxol responded through a hat-trick from Dylan Musu and two goals by Karl Sacco, but they were unable to match MFPA’s attacking strength. The match was officiated by referee Jonathan Balzan.
Meanwhile, Rabat Veterans secured their first three points of the season with an impressive 8–4 win over reigning champions Gżira United.

Rabat showed great determination throughout the match, while Gżira struggled to cope with their opponents’ fast-paced attacks. Andy Mangion led the way with a hat-trick, while Adam Wingfield and Adam Smeir both scored twice. An own goal by Pio Schiriha further boosted Rabat’s tally.
For Gżira, Sebastian Nayar scored two goals, with Kevin Sammut and Ian Zammit also getting on the scoresheet. Once again, Jonathan Balzan was the referee in charge.

The results underline MFPA’s strong title credentials, while Rabat’s victory could mark a turning point in their season.
