Farrugia shines with 96 break as action continues at Malta Snooker Academy

Competitive action returned to the Malta Snooker Academy on Friday, 30 January, with matches across five divisions producing a mix of commanding victories and closely fought encounters.
In the CE Installations Premier League, John Farrugia delivered a composed and clinical performance to defeat Emanuel Mallia 4–1. Farrugia was in fine touch throughout the match and produced the highlight of the evening with a superb 96-point break, the highest of the day.
The Goliath Coatings First Division saw Arthur Chetcuti cruise to a convincing 3–0 win over Richard Sheridan, maintaining control of the match from start to finish.
A tightly contested battle unfolded in the Second Division, where Raymond Micallef edged past Jake Castaldi 3–2 after a tense decider, underlining the competitive nature of the division.
Drama was also on display in the Third Division, with Fausto Barbara clinching a narrow 3–2 victory over Christopher Muscat in a match that went down to the wire. In the other encounter, Jesmond Schembri produced a dominant showing to beat Godwin Sciberras 3–0.
In the Masters category, Simon Zammit advanced with a solid 3–0 win over Clayton Goodrum, displaying consistency and experience throughout the match.
With high-quality play and a standout break from Farrugia, Friday’s programme once again highlighted the strong level of competition across Malta’s snooker divisions.
