Medvedev clinches second Dubai title as Griekspoor withdraws from final

Daniil Medvedev claimed the Dubai Tennis Championships title after Tallon Griekspoor withdrew from the final due to an injury sustained in the semi-finals, tournament organisers confirmed on Saturday.
Medvedev, who was chasing his second Dubai crown following a victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals, had reached the final without dropping a set.
Griekspoor revealed that he had been struggling with a hamstring issue after his straight-sets win against Andrey Rublev, admitting he would have retired had he lost the second set.
“Not how I want to win a final. Hoping the injury for Griekspoor is not too bad and wishing him a speedy recovery,” Medvedev wrote on X.
