Inter Women made an explosive start, immediately going on the offensive with several attempts on goal defended by Cachia. After 15 minutes, a deflected shot from Marie Detruyer opened the scoring for the Nerazzurre.

Hibernians responded in the 18th minute when a shot from Sylvia Kabene, following a fine solo run, went just wide. However, Inter continued to dominate possession and doubled their lead in the 23rd minute, with captain Haley Bugeja converting from the penalty spot. Just three minutes later, Inter made it 3–0 thanks to a powerful header by Masa Tomasevic.

At the other end, Kabene came close twice in quick succession on 28 minutes with two personal efforts that nearly reduced the deficit for Hibernians. Yet, on the half-hour mark, Inter struck again as Lina Magull scored the fourth goal. Shortly afterwards, four consecutive saves by Cachia prevented Inter from extending their advantage further.

In the 38th minute, Elisa Bartoli added Inter’s fifth goal with a header from a corner. Soon after, the Nerazzurre scored twice more, both goals coming from Haley Bugeja, completing a hat-trick for the Maltese international before the break.

The second half began with seven substitutions for Inter and three for Hibernians. Inter’s dominance continued and they soon made it 8–0 through substitute Elisa Polli. On the hour mark, Haley Bugeja was substituted to a warm round of applause from the crowd at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.

Inter kept pressing and extended their lead to 9–0 in the 70th minute with a low drive from Martina Tomaselli. Thirteen minutes from time, Benedetta Glionna netted the tenth goal. Hibernians then conceded twice in quick succession in the 80th and 81st minutes, with goals from Henrietta Csiszar and Elisa Polli.
