The Malta Under-15 national Blackball team delivered one of the standout performances of the European Blackball Championships in Ennis, Ireland, mounting a stunning comeback to defeat England 8–7.

Comprising Jake Castaldi, Denzel Falzon, Dielyn Edwards, and Nick Muscat, the young Maltese side trailed 7–2 before rallying with remarkable resilience, focus, and determination to overturn the deficit and secure victory in dramatic fashion.

With this result, Malta U15 now sit top of the table with 18 points, guaranteeing their place in the semi-finals after an earlier 13–2 win over Northern Ireland.

Strong Day for Other Maltese Teams

It was another positive day overall for Malta across several divisions.

In the Seniors B category, Malta recorded two important wins — 13–12 against Scotland and 17–8 against Belgium — to strengthen their qualification hopes.

The Men’s B Team also impressed with a 17–8 victory over Catalonia, though they later fell 14–11 to both Ireland and Scotland. Meanwhile, the Seniors A Team enjoyed a perfect run, securing victories of 16–9 against Belgium and 15–10 over Scotland, while the Men’s A Team delivered a convincing 17–8 triumph over Northern Ireland.

In the Grand Masters category, Malta were defeated 13–2 by Northern Ireland.
