Malta fall to Greenland


Malta suffered a 6–2 defeat against a strong Greenland side during the Futsal Week Friendly Tournament in Labin, Croatia. Despite the challenging opposition, the Maltese team showed determination and fighting spirit throughout the encounter.
Greenland asserted their dominance early on, capitalising on their physicality and sharp attacking play to build a comfortable lead. Malta, however, continued to push forward and were rewarded with two well-taken goals.
Collin Sammut opened Malta’s account with a composed finish, while Nathan Cope added a second goal, highlighting Malta’s attacking intent and resilience against high-quality opposition.
The match provided valuable experience for the Maltese squad as they continue their preparations, with lessons to be taken from facing one of the tournament’s strongest teams. Malta will now look to regroup and focus on the upcoming fixture in Labin with renewed determination.
